Trend Analysis of Published Research Papers in the Field of 『Rural Planning』 in Korean Society of Rural Planning using Bibliometrics Methods (1995-2014)
The analysis of research trends is used to identify key subject areas, research trends over time, and new discussions in a study field. The purpose of this study is to examine the characteristics of research articles published in the area of rural planning using bibliometric methods. Research articles published in the Journal of Korean Society of Rural Planning 「Rural Planning」 from 1995 to 2014 were analyzed to determine the annual publications, the number of periodical contributions, the authorship patterns, and popular research subjects and keywords. The results of this study are as follows; (1) The number of research papers and authors has increased over the 20 years periods (1995-2014); (2) The most published authors are associated with the study of rural planning. Seoul National University, Rural Development Administration, and Chonnam National University have highly contributed to the paper publications; (3) The most frequent word in titles is “Rural“ for the whole period from 1995 to 2014. The most frequent words are “Village“ and “Planning“ from 1995-2006, and “Landscape“ and “Village“ in 2007-2010, and “Village“ and “Area“ from 2011-2014; and (4) The most used keywords are “Rural amenity“, “Rural village“, and “Rural landscape“ for all of the different time frames.
There is a need to analyze unconfined groundwater behavior since the demand of groundwater use has been increasing. While unconfined groundwater temperature is tend to be affected by air temperature, it is hard to find an empirical study in South Korea. In this research, we try to determine the relationship between daily average air temperature and daily average groundwater temperature by time-sequential analysis of groundwater monitoring wells in Galshin basin in Yesan-Gun, Chungcheongnam-Do. In addition, models to estimate groundwater temperature from air temperature were developed. In this research 101-day moving average method with measured air temperature is used to estimate groundwater temperature. To verify the developed model, estimated values of average groundwater temperature with 101 moving average are compared to the measured data from September 10 2007 to September 9 2008. And, Nash-Stucliff Efficiency and Coefficient of Determination were 0.970 and 0.976, therefore it was concluded that the model allowing groundwater temperature estimation from air temperature is with reasonable applicability.
The Evaluation of Historical and Cultural Authenticity of the Three Major Cultural Areas Projects - Targeting Korean culture theme park in Yeongju-Zone and World confucian scholar culture park in Bonghwa-Zone -
This study targets Korean culture theme park in Yeongju-Zone and World confucian scholar culture park in Bonghwa-Zone among the Three Major Cultural Areas Projects supervised by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The study analyzes the Historical and Cultural Authenticity of each project on the basis of the reports and the report materials for meeting with related organizations. The results of the study are drawn as follows. First, through the theoretical consideration, this study drew the types of authenticity: originality, identity, specificity and visibility, which are evaluation items on the Historical and Cultural Authenticity. Second, Bonghwa-Zone succeeded in acquiring originality with tangible cultural properties but Yeongju-Zone chose a project site without it. Third, with originality, Bonghwa-zone was evaluated as having resources and concept with high traditional culture connectivity and fulfilled identity. It led the feature showing the high affinity between originality and identity. Fourth, compared to the projects of Andong-Zone in the Three Major Cultural Areas Projects, these two projects failed to acquire the distinctions since the primary and the secondary influence area and major facilities & programs coincided with those of the projects of Andong-Zone. Fifth, compared to Bonghwa-Zone, Yeongju-Zone realized visibility faithfully by the conceptual flexibility of "Korean Culture" and a large-scale development. Sixth, in terms of the Historical and Cultural Authenticity of project plan, it is evaluated that Yeongju-Zone and Bonghwa-Zone only fulfilled visibility and specificity respectively.
The purpose of this study is to provide an objective insight for factors that affect people's visiting behavior to educational farms. Second, this study aims to identify the underlying dimensions representing motivations and constraints for visiting educational farms. Third, this study explores differences among the classified groups with respect to structural relationships of each construct. Finally, identifying strategies of educational farm-related organizations could develop to reinforce visit motivations, offset visit constraints and ultimately increase behavioral intention for potential possible visitors to revisit and recommend educational farms. Empirical results of the study suggest implications for promoting the current farm villages and markets with many stakeholders in agricultural industries. Nevertheless, there are some limitations as followed: first, despite the possibility of their effects, the study did not consider other factors, which could affect revisiting behavior such as destination image, experiencing attributes etc. Second, the study needs improvements through longitudinal research because the cross-sectional research could not rule out the alternative explanations. The directions for the future study are as follows: first, future study requires time series approach instead of cross sectional approach. Secondly, future study might utilize comparative study regarding regional characteristics of educational farms or a nation-wide approach. Thirdly, future study can suggest a combined educational farms considering practical educational farm cases. Lastly, it is considered that developing evaluation measures such as quality authentication system will contribute to educational farms' stabilization.
Throughout the economic development era of Korea, migration occurred within a spatial hierarchy, with upward flows from rural areas to urban. The concept of step migration is a typical theory to explain these upward migration flows. Recent migration data and trends, however, indicate that migration-pattern regime shows strongly opposite-direction flows, with many of the major migration flowing downward on this national-spatial hierarchy, away from urban areas. In this study, we examine the most recent structure of migration flows up and down within the national-spatial hierarchy. We define seven tiers to tabulate origin-destination migration flows from population density of local administrative districts for the period 2001-2014, and then analyze the migration patterns between the tiers over time. The results show differentiated patterns of migration within the national-spatial hierarchy over time including specific states of migrants’ life cycles.

A Study on Application Plan and Research Direction Proposal of Domestic Therapy Agriculture through Review of Animal-Assisted Therapy

The purpose of this study was to review of animal-assisted therapy. Method: Animal-assisted therapies (AATs) in domestic and international studies (68 cases) were analyzed by searching databases, KERIS & KISS, and the Pub MED(NCBI). Result: In AATs, a few animals were used for the various disease or disorder. Dog centered therapies were most common.. AATs were used in the various disorder and disease. For the psychological effect, majority of the outcome variables were depression and anxiety. For the physical effect, the most outcome variables were blood pressure, heart rate, and stress hormone. However, These results show that AATs were confined to specific areas such as sensation-centered therapies. Conclusion: AATs had positive effects both in physical and psychological factors even if the study areas have not been applied to the various condition. The further research is needed to identify scientific grounds for the effects of the interventions through various therapies.
The purpose of this study is to draw implications and critical success factors by surveying and analysing practice cases of green care in south Korea. To achieve the object of this study, many valuable cases were checked through preceding researches and internet informations. Case study targets were divided into side-work farmer type, professional farmer type, and Institution directed type, and then case study surveys were performed by each type. Every case has the natural environment in common, and tries to satisfy users’s demands and to give the opportunity to communicate. Especially, the strong motivation, mind, and entrepreneurship of operators are very important factors for green care. If the development of government supporting policies and related education programs are accompanied with lots of potential such as Korean oriental medicine, rural tourism village, and sixth industry project, it will be possible to introduce and manage green care successfully.
This study identified the impact of the service quality of local food stores on customer satisfaction and revisiting intention of the customers as the interest into local foods is increasing. The main outcomes are as follows: First, many of the respondents said that they use the local food stores based on the trust in the origin of the products and good quality. Second, reliability and validity were suitable for factor analysis and the correlation had a positive (+) directivity. Third, reliability, assurance, empathy and tangibles were analyzed to have a positive (+) impact among the 5 aspects of service quality except for responsiveness. Fourth, customer satisfaction had a positive (+) impact on the intention to revisit the local food stores, and reliability, assurance and empathy had a positive (+) impact on revisiting intention at the statistical significance level except for responsiveness and tangibles among the 5 service quality aspects. Therefore, it is thought to be required to keep having interests into service quality to gain a competitive edge as a sustainable management system since the service quality of local food stores has impacts on customer satisfaction and intention to revisit.
Land price can be affected by convenience or psychological repulsion like PIMFY (Please In My Front Yard) or NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard) for various facilities. Services related to public establishment, welfare, medical attention, and amenities in rural areas are comparatively poorer than those in urban areas. The purpose of this study is to estimate the implications of the accessibility to community facilities in rural areas for land prices using a hedonic price model. The accessibility to facilities is estimated by real road distances and the land prices are applied for four types of land usages: field, rice paddy, building lots, and village halls. Community facilities are classified from public and community services view: education, safety, culture, transport, environment, health care, and finance. The results show that the accessibility to health care and transport can positively affect land prices and the accessibility to environment (waste facilities and junkyard) and unpleasant services (funeral hall and charnel house) can negatively affect land prices. Especially, the accessibility to hospital is the most positive influential factor for all types of land usages.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the roadside agricultural product shops located in Miryang city, and to find out the current situation on how people rate the importance and satisfaction levels of various aspects through surveys on sellers and consumers. With this information, the main problems and possible solutions are analyzed with the Important Performance Analysis(IPA) method. First, building parking spaces for customers should be prioritized to improve safety. Because many roadside shops for agricultural products are located alongside two-lane roads, sufficient parking spaces are needed for the consumers' safety. Second, to enhance the rural landscape, consumers express that improving store quality and integrating more with the environment are important. Store owners should take more care in maintaining store quality so that customers do not experience inconvenience while shopping. Futhermore, institutional guidelines and standards must be implemented to allow for a more harmonious relationship between these shops and the environment. Third, both sellers and consumers think that taste, price, and freshness are important aspects of roadside agricultural product shops. However, while sellers and consumers both agree that the price is the most important factor, there is a discrepancy between these two groups regarding the satisfactory price level. The sellers do not agree that their products are being sold at the fair price. This can be interpreted as sellers believe that the prices are set too low. Because pricing is important aspect and also a very delicate issue, mid to long term consideration and study will be needed to improve roadside shops for agricultural products in the future.
The purpose of this paper is to decide priorities of policy-objectives and support measures related to the 6th industrialization of agriculture, and prepare policy-objectives and alternatives to contribute to maintaining and promoting the community through creation of more jobs and added value. We used the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to reflect the experts’ opinions about objectives, means and priorities of the 6th industrialization of agriculture. The important objectives of the 6th industrialization of agriculture were to create jobs, to increase added values, and to maintain and activate the community. The results showed that the most important objectives for the 6th industrialization of agriculture were maintaining and activating the community, expanding added values and creating employment in order. Policy means to achieve these objectives were financial support, human resource training & consulting, research & development, and marketing. The decision-makers determined marketing as the most important among the policy means to achieve the objectives of the 6th industrialization.
